Story Time, product 1 of 3
Story Time
Story Time is a story and read-aloud app for parents and children. Parents can read together with their child, while early readers can independently practise reading, vocabulary and reading comprehension.
The idea came while we were expecting our first child. We wanted to create an accessible app for short reading moments, with a varied collection that makes reading and learning to read enjoyable and encourages family time.
Everyone can choose and read a story per day for free. Stories are conceived by people, written with the support of AI and reviewed by people before (and after) publication. Educational features support vocabulary, reading comprehension and engagement without losing sight of shared family reading time.
About us
Daniël
Technology has fascinated me from a young age. I was always tinkering with something, and I still actively follow new developments. I enjoy the puzzle and the challenge, the critical thinking and the hard work.
Previously I primarily specialised in Flutter, while my focus now lies in software architecture. With the rise of AI, a thoughtful technical foundation is more important than ever. Translating complex problems into good code solutions is what I enjoy most in my work.
Kirsten
My background is mostly in the social domain, including education, care and society. During my Social Work studies, I took an unexpected turn: from firmly anti-tech to advocating for technology. My goal has always been to make an impact.
At Roek IT, my goal is to translate between real people and technology. The necessary bridge for thoughtful, reliable and helpful solutions that can play a valuable role.

Technology should support people, not the other way around. That is why we begin with research, conversations and feedback. We test assumptions, challenge each other and design around the user first: from how a product looks and works to how data is processed.
Reliable
From day one, we design software with stability, safety and maintainability in mind. We plan carefully, review decisions critically, question them, improve and review again. For us, quality is not a final check but an ongoing process.
Transparent
Transparency keeps us honest. That means being open about limitations, mistakes and difficult decisions. Without openness, we cannot build trust or credibility. People and technology make mistakes; we believe the difference lies in how we respond and work towards a solution.
Adaptive
People change, along with their wishes and needs. Our products need to evolve with them. We continue developing, remain open to feedback and keep learning. We combine new insights with established knowledge and sometimes forgotten insights, so change does not come at the expense of reliability.
Innovative
For us, innovation does not mean following every trend. We continue experimenting and exploring new technology, but we assess developments against sustainability, usefulness and our core values. We innovate where it creates genuine value.
